Halo Launches on Kickstarter

I’m so thrilled to announce that Halo: A Story about Heaven is one step closer to print.  In order to have full control of the story, illustrations and distribution of this project, self-publishing seemed like the best avenue for printing. To cover the initial costs, Halo will be featured on Kickstarter.com from March 14 to April 13, 2013.

What’s Kickstarter?

Kickstarter.com gives the general public the opportunity to support creative projects. However, the great thing about it is that it’s not a platform for handouts. If you contribute some cash, you get something in return. Also, your contribution is risk-free-- if the financial goal is not met, you don't pay a cent. At the same time, that also means I get zero funding of I don't reach my goal.

Halo’s Kickstarter Goals

An initial goal of $3,000 will fund the printing costs of the first edition of Halo: A Story about Heaven.  That amount will also fund some pretty sweet rewards (see below), as well as copies of the book donated to hospitals, funeral homes, libraries and grief centers across the country. The second financial goal of $10,000 would allow me to also allow the production of 500 custom plush Halo toys that could be a source of healing for a grieving child.

The Rewards

Your contribution can help make this dream a reality... and you won't go away empty-handed.For example, with a $20 contribution, you’ll receive a signed first-edition print of the book. With a contribution of $150, you’ll take home a signed and numbered limited edition print of a Halo illustration, and with many giving tiers, you’ll receive a set of postcards of different illustrations.
